Kanchanpur Irrigation Project chief arrested with 11 lakh

Dhangadhi: Mahakali Irrigation Project, Kanchanpur Kamu Project Director Prachandadev Bisht has been arrested with Rs. 11 lakh. He was arrested by the police from Hotel Isan Prali in Sundhara on Thursday.

Police said that he was arrested on the basis of a information provided to them regarding him accepting bribe. Police have alleged that Bista took the amount from the contractor of the project.

After the arrest, Director Bisht has been handed over to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority. Meanwhile, spokesperson of the Authority Abuse Investigation Taranath Adhikari said that Director Bisht has been brought for investigation.
