Kesharpur Primary Health Center runs without a doctor for a year

Baitadi: Kesharpur Primary Health Center in Melauli Municipality of Baitadi has not had a doctor for a year.

Locals of Melauli Municipality, Shivnath Municipality, and Pancheshwor Municipality have been facing problems receiving treatment as there is no doctor in the primary health center with the post of a medical officer.

When the transport service was closed during the lockdown, it had become very difficult for the emergency patients to get to a well-equipped hospital. Locals have said that they reach decent hospitals by booking expensive ambulances.

Mukesh Kant Dayal, health inspector at they health center, said that many patients with broken limbs came to the health center but had to be referred elsewhere as there was no doctor.

After 16 years of its establishment, the primary health center has become doctor-less again and the machines including X-ray and ECG in the center are kept unused.
