Driver of government vehicle not arrested after injuring a man in Kailali
Dhangadhi: A government vehicle (Ba 1 Jha 9250) hit a motorcycle in Kailali on Saturday afternoon.
Siddha Jayagadhi age 33, of Bardagoria Rural Municipality Ward No. 4, was injured when he was driving his motorcycle (Ba 32 Pa 6453) in Lamkichuha Municipality Ward No. 6 on the East-West Highway and got hit by a goverment vehicle. He was referred to Nepalgunj for treatment by the local hospital.
Jayagadhi is currently undergoing treatment in Nepalgunj. Immediately after the accident, the driver of the government vehicle fled leaving the vehicle on the spot. The Area Police Office Lamkichuha took the vehicle for investigation. The vehicle that hit the motorcycle belonged to the District Administration Office of Bajhang.
The number of passengers in the car remains unknown. However, it is understood that the vehicle belonged to the Chief District Officer of Bajhang. Police have not arrested the driver even 4 days since the accident. According to the District Police Office of Kailali, the two sides have reached an understanding to solve the matter on a personal level.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratik Bista said, "the CDO agreed to bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured and provide compensation, ”said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bist.
