Road drainage system collapses amidst construction in Gauriganga

A road drainage system under construction in Gauriganga Municipality of Kailali collapsed before its completion.  According to locals, the 85-meter-long drain being constructed on the Badhaipur-Likma road of Gauriganga Municipality Ward No. 8 collapsed amidst construction. Dipendra Giri, chairman of the Drainage Construction Consumers Committee, also confirmed the information.

"There has been no negligence in the construction of the drain, the drain collapsed due to design flaw," he said. Meanwhile, Chairman of Ward No. 8 of Gauriganga Municipality Tularam Sapkota said that the drain was broken and instructions have been given for its reconstruction. Mayor of Gauriganga Municipality Bhim Bahadur Deuba inspected the road on Wednesday.
