27 new cases of Coronavirus in Far-West

Dhangadhi: 27 new cases of Coronavirus has been confirmed in Far-West today.

Of the 27 infected patients 18 of them were tested at the Dhangadhi-based Corona Testing Laboratory and 9 at the Surkhet Laboratory. Thus the total number of infected people in the Far-West has reached 73. Tests conducted in Dhangadhi confirmed 10 positive cases from Kailali and 8 from Kanchanpur.

A 20, 35- and 63-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl that tested positive are at the Karnali Higher Secondary School qurantine center in Tikapur Municipality of Kailali. A 32-year-old man in the qurantine center of Tribhuvan Higher Secondary School in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward No.

3 also tested positive. While 19, 20, 24, 28 and 32-year-old men in the quarantine centre of Kalika Higher Secondary School in Garaging Municipality also tested positive. Similarly, 33, 35, 36 and 52 year old men in Rehabilitation Municipality of Kanchanpur tested positive.

33 year old man of Laljhadi village, 28 and 30 year old men from the quarantine centre in IVRD of Kanchanpur and 50 year old man in Mahakali Hospital also tested Coronavirus positive. Meanwhile, a test conducted in Surkhet confirmed eight cases, including two women from Mellekh village of Achham and one from Mangalsen municipality.

The virus was also confirmed in a test conducted in Surkhet last evening on a person from Chaurpati village in Achham district. Of the 73 infected people in the Far-West, 71 are from Sudurpaschim. While one patient from Bajhang and one from Bajura are undergoing treatment in Karnali. One person has died due to Coronavirus while six others have been discharged.

33 persons from Kailali have been infected. 13 from Achham, 10 from Kanchanpur, 6 from Baitadi, 5 from Doti, 3 from Bajura and 1 each from Dadeldhura, Bajhang and Darchula. Not all of the infected patients are in their districts. 4 people each from Doti and Baitadi and 2 from Achham are undergoing treatment at Seti Hospital.
