14-Year-Old Boy Dies After Auto-Rickshaw Hits Motorcycle in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: A 14-year-old boy has died following a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle in Dhangadhi, Kailali. Two people, including the motorcyclist, were injured in the accident.

The accident occurred at around 3:50 PM on Sunday at Milan Chowk in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-2. Police reported that an auto-rickshaw (Se 1 Sa 611) struck a motorcycle (Se 1 Pa 5959), which was traveling from Chauraha towards the Customs Office, as the motorcycle was crossing the road.

The auto-rickshaw driver has been identified as 18-year-old Ankit Gupta of Adarshatole, Dhangadhi-2, while the motorcyclist is 22-year-old Dinesh Thapa of Ghodaghodi Municipality-8, Kailali.

Motorcyclist Thapa sustained injuries to both legs and his right arm. Police stated that his condition is moderate. The boy riding pillion on the motorcycle suffered a severe head injury.

Both injured individuals were taken to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment, where doctors declared the boy, Bishal Gotame, dead at 4:15 PM.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Chris Gotame, the 14-year-old son of Bishal Gotame from ‘Ka’ Village, Punarbas Municipality-8, Kanchanpur.

The auto-rickshaw, the auto-rickshaw driver, and the motorcycle have been taken into police custody. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
