Nine Women Arrested With Customs-Evasion Goods in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: Nine women have been arrested with customs-evasion goods in Kanchanpur.

Police have arrested nine people with goods worth an estimated Rs 1 lakh, including sugar, pulses, edible oil, sonpapadi, groceries and other items illegally brought from India near the Customs Office in Bhimdatta Municipality-11.

Those arrested are Jyoti Dagoura, 32, Sonu Dagoura, 24, Neha Chaudhary, 20, Tara Kunwar, 35, and Bhavana Chand, 40, of Bhimdatta Municipality-2; Laxmi Nepali, 35, of Bhimdatta Municipality-8; and Pashupati Dhami, 24, Bimala Chand, 40, and Mina Dhami, 35, of Bhimdatta Municipality-19.

A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Gaddachauki, Kanchanpur, found and arrested the nine people on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the arrested people have been sent to the Customs Office, Gaddachauki, Kanchanpur, for necessary action.
