Compensation Dispute Delays Handover of Bus Accident Victim’s Body in Kailali

Dhangadhi: The body of Sinki Bohara of Bajhang, who died after being hit by a bus in Attariya, Kailali, remains at Seti Provincial Hospital after discussions on action against the driver and compensation for the deceased’s family failed to reach an agreement.

Bohara, a resident of Mashta Rural Municipality-6, Bajhang, who was currently living in Godavari Municipality-1, was hit by a Mahakali Yatayat bus (Sup Pra 02-001 Kha 956) travelling from Mahendranagar to Darchula at Attariya on Sunday. She was selling water and arms at the Attariya bus park at the time of the accident.

Following the incident, locals and relatives of Bohara protested at Attariya Bazaar on Sunday evening, demanding strict action against the bus driver.

Discussions were held at the Area Police Office, Malakheti, on Monday, but no agreement could be reached. According to DSP Hira Mahara of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, the concerned parties have been called for further discussions on Tuesday morning.

The body of Bohara is currently being kept at Seti Provincial Hospital. An agreement between the victim’s family and the transport party is expected through the discussions scheduled for Tuesday.
