All services except emergency services remain closed in hospitals in the Far West for the second day
Dhangadhi: All health services except emergency services have been closed in government and private hospitals in the Far West Province for the second day today at the call of the Nepal Medical Association.
According to Dr. Khagendra Bhatta, President of the Nepal Medical Association Sudurpaschim Province, the protest is continuing, demanding legal action against those responsible for the attack on doctors and health workers working at the Narayani Hospital in Birgunj and the vandalism at the hospital.
The association has decided to close all health services except emergency services across the country, accusing the government of not showing the necessary sensitivity towards the deadly attack on doctors and health workers and the vandalism at the hospital and delaying legal action against the culprits.
As part of the protest program, doctors will submit a memorandum to the concerned District Administration Office and also hold a protest at the health institutions they work at.
