Ravi Lamichhane meets Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Ravi Lamichhane, currently on a visit to India, held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared on his social media platform Facebook that he was very pleased to meet Chairperson Lamichhane. He also expressed his willingness to work closely for a shared prosperous future and welcomed and fully supported Lamichhane’s vision.

Prime Minister Modi stated that Nepal is a priority partner under India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and expressed eagerness to collaborate with the new government to further elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between the two countries.

During the meeting, discussions were held on Nepal–India relations, ties between the RSP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and various areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

Also present on the occasion from the Indian side were External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. From the Nepali side, participants included Chairperson Lamichhane, his spouse Nikita Paudel, RSP leaders Bipin Acharya and Dipak Bohara, along with senior officials from the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi.

Chairperson Lamichhane had departed for New Delhi on Monday for a five-day visit at the invitation of BJP President Nitin Navin. During the visit, he also held meetings on Tuesday with Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
