Kanchanpur administration issues guidelines for vehicle permits ahead of voting
Kanchanpur: The District Administration Office, Kanchanpur, has urged individuals to obtain permits for vehicles to be used on voting day. In a notice issued on Thursday, the administration requested that permits be secured at least two days prior to the election.
Candidates or their representatives, national observers, and media personnel are required to apply for vehicle permits with the recommendation of the concerned authority by Falgun 19.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Chandra Joshi, candidates or their representatives must apply to the Chief Election Officer or Election Officer for any two-, three-, or four-wheeled vehicle as per Schedule-3 and submit the application with the necessary recommendation. National observers are also required to submit applications for two- or four-wheeled vehicles with the recommendation of the Election Officer. Similarly, provincial and district offices of constitutional bodies must submit applications with the recommendation of the Election Officer.
For media outlets, each organization is requested to apply for a maximum of five vehicles with the recommendation of the Federation of Nepali Journalists in the district. On voting day, movement of vehicles other than essential services—including ambulances, drinking water tankers, milk transport vehicles, fire engines, telecommunication services, hearses, hospital services, electricity services, diplomatic mission vehicles marked with 'CD', and vehicles with an election pass—will be prohibited.
The District Administration Office has also banned the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcohol from Falgun 14 until the completion of the election. Assistant Chief District Officer Joshi emphasized that cooperation from hoteliers, political parties, civil society, and the general public is expected to maintain peace, security, and social harmony during the election period. He warned that legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the prohibition.
