Two temporary polling stations designated in Kanchanpur as election preparations intensify
Kanchanpur: Two temporary polling stations have been identified in Kanchanpur district for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. According to District Election Office Election Officer Harish Chandra Joshi, temporary polling stations will be established at the prison branch and within the premises of Bhimdatta Municipality office.
The temporary polling centers have been designated for security personnel, employees of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal, as well as prisoners who are on standby in the district. There are more than 500 temporary voters in Kanchanpur, including 21 prisoners. Officer Joshi clarified that not all prisoners will be eligible to vote; only those whose names appear on the final voter list will be permitted to cast their ballots.
Meanwhile, the selection of polling officers and assistant polling officers for all three constituencies in the district has been completed, and training sessions have commenced. Training for Constituency No. 1 was conducted today, while sessions for Constituencies No. 2 and 3 are scheduled for Monday.
All three election officers’ offices have stated that the selection and deployment of assistant staff are in the final stages. Ballot papers and other election-related materials have arrived in the district and are being dispatched to the respective constituencies. Verification of materials and preparation of packages are currently underway at the election officers’ offices.
