Baitadi bus tragedy: Congress president Thapa expresses grief, calls for proper treatment of injured
Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed grief over the bus accident that claimed the lives of 13 people in Purchaundi Municipality of Baitadi.
In a condolence statement issued today, President Thapa said he was heartbroken by the news of the accident. He paid tribute to the deceased during this painful time, prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls, and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the party and himself. President Thapa also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and urged the government to make arrangements for proper treatment.
The bus carrying the deceased met with an accident on Thursday. The bus (Sup Pra 02 001 Kha 1119) was heading towards Bajhang from Purchaundi Municipality-7 Bhavane in Baitadi when it met with an accident at the Purchaundi-7 Badgaun junction. Eight people died on the spot, while five others died at Dadeldhura Hospital. Another 34 people were injured in the accident and are receiving treatment in Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi and Bajhang.
