Election security tightened: trained dogs deployed for bus checks at Attariya
Attariya: In preparation for the upcoming House of Representatives elections, security measures have been intensified at Attariya Bus Park in Kailali. The Nepal Police Sudurpaschim Province, in coordination with the Area Police Office, Malakheti, conducted thorough inspections of buses using trained dogs.
Buses operating on both long and short routes were screened with the assistance of dogs from the canine branch under the Province Police Office, Dhangadhi. Authorities emphasized that canine searches are more effective than manual inspections.
DSP Ran Bahadur Chand, Chief of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, stated that the screening campaign aims to prevent the transport of explosives and narcotics, ensuring the elections scheduled for Falgun 21 are conducted safely and peacefully. The campaign will continue regularly, at least once a week, and will be intensified as required.
During today’s inspections, more than a dozen vehicles were screened, with no explosives or narcotics detected. Police have assured that vigilance will increase further as the election date approaches.
