Loyal dog waits four days beside owner’s body after brothers die in snowstorm
Himachal Pradesh: A tragic incident in Chamba district has deeply moved people, highlighting the extraordinary loyalty of a pet dog named Sheroo. Nineteen-year-old Vikas Rana and his 13-year-old brother Piyush lost their lives in a snowstorm while in the mountains near the Bharmani Mata temple.
The two brothers had climbed the mountainous area to make a video when a sudden change in weather and extreme cold proved fatal. After they went out of contact for several days, a rescue team located them using drones and helicopters.
By the time rescuers reached the site, both brothers had already died. However, their pet dog Sheroo remained beside his owner’s lifeless body, refusing to leave. Despite enduring severe cold and snow without food or water for four days, Sheroo continued to guard the bodies. Even when rescue personnel tried to call him away, he did not move from the spot. Police have confirmed that the brothers died due to extreme cold and snow.
A video circulating on social media has drawn widespread attention to Sheroo’s unwavering loyalty. The sudden loss of the two young brothers and the dog’s selfless devotion have left a lasting and emotional impression in the hills of Chamba.
