Sagar Dhakal announces plan to contest Dadeldhura seat again
Dadeldhura: RSP leader Sagar Dhakal, who ran against former Prime Minister and Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba in the 2079 BS parliamentary election, has announced that he will contest from Dadeldhura again in the upcoming House of Representatives election.
In the previous election, Dhakal received 13,042 votes, while Deuba secured victory with 25,534 votes. At that time, Dhakal had contested as an independent candidate but has now joined the RSP party.
Dhakal stated that he will launch his election campaign from Dadeldhura and has begun preparations with the party’s liaison committee to mobilize the youth. He clarified that although the party has not made an official decision regarding candidacy, his participation is almost certain. “No one has made an official decision from the party. It is almost like my final,” he said.
Acknowledging the presence of multiple candidates in Dadeldhura, Dhakal emphasized that participation from all aspirants is welcome in line with democratic norms. He added that he remains in constant contact with voters and is prioritizing the engagement of local communities in his election preparations.
Building on the votes he received in the previous election, Dhakal has set his goal to directly contest the upcoming election from Dadeldhura once again.
