Dhangadhi: A team led by General Pawan Khatri of the Nepal Army conducted an on-site inspection of the Darchula-Tinkar road project currently under construction in Darchula, reviewing the progress, challenges, and overall status of the road.

Far Western Region Commander Lieutenant-General Khatri stated that the Darchula-Tinkar road will not only ease the lives of residents in remote areas but also strengthen national security and border infrastructure. He praised the Nepal Army personnel for their continuous deployment despite difficult terrain and adverse weather, noting that construction is progressing effectively with the support of local authorities.

The Nepal Army has been advancing the construction of the road through extremely remote, high-altitude terrain, complex geography, limited resources, and challenging weather conditions. For residents of the Byans region, who have been largely cut off from the road network for decades, the project represents a vital link for economic, social, and strategic development.

The road has currently reached Rangthal in Byans Rural Municipality Ward No. 2, where vehicles have begun operating. The project aims to extend vehicular access to Dumling in the near future, which is expected to facilitate the transport of daily necessities, food, medicine, and construction materials.

Locals have expressed that the road will help reduce migration, strengthen the presence of the state in remote areas, and connect residents to broader development opportunities. For the people of Byans, the Darchula-Tinkar road symbolizes hope, opportunity, and a pathway toward the future.
