UML selects 10 proportional candidates from Sudurpaschim for House of Representatives

Dhangadhi: The CPN-UML has named 10 candidates from Sudurpaschim Province in its proportional representation list for the House of Representatives. The closed list of proportional candidates, submitted to the Election Commission on Monday, includes 10 leaders from Sudurpaschim among a total of 110 candidates nationwide.

From Kailali district, the list includes Leela Bhandari, Harishankar Yogi, Ichcha Chaudhary and Savitra Ghimire. Similarly, Nirudevi Pal and Kriparam Rana have been selected from Kanchanpur, LB Rawal and Bhagarathi Chand Singh from Bajhang, Bam Bahadur BC from Achham, and Jayendra Singh Aitwal from Darchula.

Earlier, the UML had forwarded a list of 54 names from Kailali alone to the party center for proportional representation. The Sudurpaschim Province Committee later shortlisted names received from all nine districts and sent the final recommendations to the central committee. The central committee subsequently included 10 candidates from the list.
