Temporary voter registration begins in Baitadi for upcoming elections
Baitadi: The collection of temporary voter details has commenced in Baitadi ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives elections under the proportional electoral system.
Acting District Election Officer Purshottam Joshi stated that the process has started by requesting details of temporary and contract employees from various local levels, organizations, and prisons in the district. It is estimated that there are approximately 3,000 temporary voters in Baitadi.
Voter details to be included in the temporary voter list must be certified by the head of the respective office from Poush 19 to Magh 18 and submitted to the office of the Chief Name Registration Officer, Provincial or District Election Officer. The compiled list will be published, and the final temporary voter list will be issued after reviewing claims and objections.
The Election Commission specified that the voter details will include employees working in organizations owned or controlled by the Government of Nepal, Provincial Government, or local levels, as well as members of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force residing in barracks, detainees, prisoners, elderly persons, and office bearers of constitutional bodies operated by the government or approved authorities, whose names appear in the final voter list.
Previously, the Election Commission had collected a special voter list from Asoj 10 to Mangsir 5 in preparation for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
