Mini truck plunges into Surnaya river, driver killed instantly in Baitadi

Baitadi: A mini truck accident in Baitadi claimed the life of the driver on the spot on Thursday night, according to the District Police Office, Baitadi.

Police Inspector Baldev Badu, spokesperson of the District Police Office, said that the mini truck (Bhe. 1 Kha. 1639), which was traveling from Surnaya-4 Sansarmandou to Dhangadhi via the inner dirt road under the Satbanj–Sirbhanwar road section, met with the accident at Kathegauna in Surnaya Rural Municipality Ward No. 5.

The driver, 29-year-old Naresh Mahara of Surnaya-4 Kauladi, died after the truck plunged about 60 meters off the road into the Surnaya River.

Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
