149 absconding defendants arrested in Kailali within one week

Dhangadhi: Police in Kailali have arrested 149 absconding defendants within a week.

According to the District Police Office, the arrests were made under the “Search and Sweep Operation” conducted from Mangsir 1 to 7. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Singh, spokesperson for the office, said the operation was carried out by the District Police Office in coordination with subordinate police units.

He informed that the arrested individuals had been absconding despite court verdicts requiring them to serve prison sentences and pay fines issued by the District Court, Kailali. The arrested defendants have been sent to the court for necessary legal action, the police stated.
