Two arrested with drugs in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Police have arrested two individuals with drugs in separate operations conducted in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.

According to the Provincial Police Office, Dhangadhi, 22-year-old Kalam Jaisi of Lamkichuha Municipality-1, Ghurawa, was arrested near the Khakraula Customs Checkpost in Tikapur Municipality-9, Kailali, on Sunday. Police recovered 2 grams and 650 milligrams of brown heroin from his possession. Jaisi was taken into custody by a police team deployed from Police Post Kalakunda, Kailali.

Similarly, on Sunday evening, police arrested 21-year-old Purna Bahadur Chaudhary of Chanddeu, Laljhadi Rural Municipality-6, Kanchanpur. He was intercepted while entering Nepal from India on foot at the road ghat in Belauri Municipality-10. Police recovered 1 gram of brown heroin from Chaudhary.

He was detained by a police team from the Area Police Office, Beldandi, Kanchanpur. Police said that further investigation into both cases is underway.
