Dhangadhi sends 150 single women on annual Muktinath pilgrimage
Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City has sent 150 single women on a pilgrimage to Muktinath this year as part of its annual approved program. The pilgrims departed on Friday and were seen off by Mayor Gopal Hamal, public representatives, and municipal employees. The initiative is part of the sub-metropolitan city’s long-standing tradition of sending senior citizens on the Muktinath pilgrimage, which began in the fiscal year 2079/80 BS. In previous years, 131 senior citizens were sent in the first year, 140 in 2080/81, and 131 in 2081/82. So far in the current fiscal year, 552 residents of Dhangadhi have had the opportunity to visit Muktinath. The sub-metropolitan city has also organized visits to other religious sites during the pilgrimage, including locations in Pokhara, Baglung, Myagdi, Chitwan, Devghat in Tanahun and Chitwan, and Shashwat Dham in Nawalparasi.
