Kanchanpur administration urges safe and disciplined celebration of Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath
Kanchanpur: Ahead of Bada Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals, the District Administration Office has urged the public to celebrate in a safe, disciplined, and dignified manner.
Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Chandra Joshi issued a notice advising that public vehicles should not carry passengers beyond their capacity, drivers must avoid operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol, and fares should remain within prescribed limits. Passengers are encouraged to report complaints to the nearest police office or station.
The administration has warned that strict action will be taken against those creating artificial shortages of essential food items—including rice, oil, sugar, and vegetables—engaging in black marketing, inflating prices, or selling expired or inedible products.
Residents have also been cautioned against buying, selling, storing, or transporting cards, fireworks, firecrackers, gunpowder, or other explosives for entertainment purposes. The public has been advised to remain alert to activities that could disrupt religious, social, or cultural harmony.
The notice emphasizes celebrating the festivals in a civilized and joyful manner, avoiding unnecessary crowding, rioting, or excessive noise in public spaces. Emergency services, including hospitals, ambulances, fire engines, vehicles, manpower, and fuel, have been prepared to respond to potential incidents.
Authorities have instructed relevant bodies to make preparations in anticipation of changing weather conditions. While organizing Deusi-Bhailo and festival-targeted sports events such as cricket and football, it has been urged that activities be conducted in a disciplined, organized manner and conclude by 9 pm at the latest.
