Belauri municipality employees halt services citing Genz-related disruptions
Belauri (Kanchanpur): Employees of Belauri Municipality have suspended services, except for essential health services, alleging continued disruptions in the name of the Genji movement.
According to computer operator Ashok Pandey, individuals repeatedly entered the municipal office under the pretext of Genji, creating chaos and making it impossible for staff to work.
In a joint statement signed by municipal employees, they declared their inability to resume services until a conducive working environment is ensured. Information Officer Rajendra Bista confirmed that operations remain stalled due to the lack of a proper work atmosphere.
The statement further noted that since Bhadra 29, Genji supporters have been regularly present at the office, making false accusations, lowering staff morale, and disrupting daily operations.
Supporters have been demanding details on employee appointments, particularly regarding contract staff, accusing the mayor of favoring close associates in the process.
The employees’ families have already informed Mayor Potilal Chaudhary and Deputy Mayor Jogram Chaudhary about the disruptions. In response, Deputy Mayor Chaudhary said an executive meeting has been called for Thursday to address the demands and restore a workable environment at the municipality office.
