Five arrested in Kanchanpur with fake currency, including three Indian nationals
Dhangadhi: Police in Kanchanpur have arrested five individuals, including three Indian nationals, with 147 counterfeit currency notes. According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the arrests were made on Friday night after fake notes were recovered during a vehicle inspection. Police found 147 counterfeit Indian currency notes of Rs 500 denomination inside a vehicle bearing the Indian number plate UP 14 BH 2073. A team from the Area Police Office, Jhalari, discovered the fake currency while inspecting the vehicle near the Nepal Army’s Shree Ransingh Security Guard Post in Shuklaphanta Municipality-3, Jaunpur. Along with the counterfeit notes, authorities seized Rs 117,600 in Nepali currency and the vehicle. Those taken into custody include Gaugat Bahadur Singh, 32, of Bansah, Shuklaphanta Municipality-1, Kanchanpur; Chandra Bohara, 24, of the same municipality; Kuldeep Chaturbedi, 25, of Tesilmiganj village, Bareilly, India; Amit Yadav, 20, of Fatiteganj, Bareilly, India; and Himanshu Sharma, 24, of Udamsinghnagar, Bareilly, Uttarakhand, India. Police have launched further investigations into the case.
