Over 6,600 people receive services from Sakar health post in Baitadi in one year
Baitadi: More than 6,000 citizens have received healthcare services from Sakar Health Post in Patan Municipality-1, Baitadi, over the past year.
According to health post chief Narendra Raj Bhattarai, a total of 6,652 people availed services in the last fiscal year. Speaking at a public hearing program on Friday, Bhattarai shared details of the services provided and the activities carried out during the year.
He informed that 41 mothers benefited from safe delivery services at the health post in the last fiscal year. Alongside treatment, the health post has been conducting various awareness programs and providing a wide range of services, including integrated management of pediatric illnesses, adolescent sexual and reproductive health services, nutrition programs, non-communicable disease management, family planning, laboratory services, gender-based violence prevention, iron supplementation for adolescents, safe abortion services, and safe motherhood programs.
Designated as both a nutrition-friendly and adolescent-friendly institution, the Sakar Health Post has reported zero home deliveries within its service area, with safe maternity services available 24/7.
For the current fiscal year 2082/83, the health post plans to expand vaccination and village clinics, continue non-communicable disease and tuberculosis research programs, and maintain laboratory services.
Tarkasingh Thagunna, Chairman of the Health Institution Operation and Management Committee and Ward Chairman of Patan-1, said necessary steps will be taken to further improve the effectiveness of the services provided by the health post.
