Chief Minister Shah visits Bardiya to meet Resham Chaudhary amid political tensions

Dhangadhi: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has visited Bardiya to meet Resham Lal Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, amid rising political tensions.
Chief Minister Shah arrived at Chaudhary’s residence on Sunday morning carrying a message from Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. The visit follows Shah’s dismissal of Rameshwor Chaudhary, the Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, representing the Nagarik Unmukti Party in the provincial cabinet.

The dismissal has prompted significant backlash from the Nagarik Unmukti Party. The party’s Sudurpaschim Parliamentary Party decided to withdraw its support from the provincial government on Friday, and on Saturday, the party also resolved to pull out of the federal government.

The meeting between Shah and Resham Chaudhary comes after Chief Minister Shah and NC President Deuba held discussions in Budhanilkantha on Saturday. Following that meeting, Deuba advised Chief Minister Shah to pursue dialogue and negotiation with the Nagarik Unmukti Party to address the unfolding political situation.
