One dead in snakebite incident, another injured by lightning in Kailali

Kailali: A man has died and another person has been injured in separate incidents caused by natural hazards in Kailali district.

Ram Bahadur Budha, 43, a resident of Olani, Godavari Municipality-12, died after being bitten by a snake on his right leg while working outside his house. According to Shivraj Joshi, Administrative Officer and Information Officer at the District Administration Office, Kailali, Budha was rushed to Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi for treatment but succumbed to the bite during medical care.

In a separate incident, Guliyadevi Chaudhary of Lallipur, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-19, was injured after being struck by lightning. The incident occurred while Chaudhary was harvesting paddy seeds in a field approximately 100 meters from her home. She sustained injuries to her right leg, arm, and back, and was also taken to Seti Provincial Hospital for treatment.

Both incidents highlight the ongoing risks posed by natural elements during the monsoon season in the region.
