Kanchanpur: A family of four from Pavitra Basti in Krishnapur Municipality-5 has been safely relocated after their home was submerged due to continuous rainfall.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, informed that Aarti BK’s family was moved to Pavitra Basic School for safety after floodwaters inundated their residence. "As the rain continues, we have urged people to avoid rivers, canals, and unnecessary travel," said DSP Bohara. He also requested locals to immediately report any incidents of submersion or damage to the nearest police office.

Currently, the Mahakali River is flowing at 65,490 cusecs—below the danger level—while other rivers including Mohana, Chaudhar, Syali, and Sunbora have recorded high water levels. So far, no loss of life or property has been reported, according to the police.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a public notice warning of potential flooding in riverbanks and low-lying areas due to heavy rainfall across the district. It has urged residents to exercise extreme caution and relocate to safer areas through tomorrow morning.
