Dadeldhura: A dispute between two municipal employees at Amargadhi Municipality in Dadeldhura led to the temporary detention of one officer on Sunday.

The disagreement occurred between Chief Administrative Officer Laxmi Prasad Upadhyay and Planning Officer Tanka Prasad Panta during office hours. Following the incident, Panta was briefly taken into custody by the police.

According to Panta, he was on leave when he was summoned to the office under the pretext of official work. He alleged that he was then surrounded by city police and accused of being intoxicated before being handed over to the police. Panta claimed that the incident was an attempt to frame him, suggesting that the motive may be related to concerns about the Chief Administrative Officer’s personal relationships becoming public.

Chief Administrative Officer Upadhyay, however, downplayed the incident, stating that it was merely a minor argument. "It was not a fight, just a routine discussion regarding the importance of regular office attendance during the month of Asad," he said.

Dambar Bahadur Bista, Police Inspector and Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, confirmed that Panta was detained briefly following reports of a conflict at the municipality. He added that Panta was released after stating the issue was internal and would be resolved internally.
