Foundation stone of Dodhara Chandani dry port to be laid soon: Minister Bhandari

Kailali: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari has announced that the foundation stone for the Dodhara Chandani Dry Port in Kanchanpur will be laid soon.

During an inspection of the dry port construction site in Haniwar, Minister Bhandari stated that the Prime Ministers of Nepal and India will jointly lay the foundation stone during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to India. He further mentioned that the specific date for the ceremony will be finalized after consultations with the Indian Ambassador.

An Indian company has already secured the contract for the construction of the dry port. The Government of Nepal has completed the process of cutting 1,593 trees at the site and is in the final stages of transferring land ownership to initiate construction work.

Minister Bhandari emphasized that the dry port project will play a vital role in promoting industrial development in Nepal, particularly in the Far West region.
