Far-West minister cites budget constraints amid growing development needs

Bajura: Sudurpaschim Province’s Minister for Social Development, Meghraj Khadka, has highlighted the challenges of meeting development demands in the face of a constrained budget.
Speaking at the inauguration of a blood transfusion center and blood donation program organized by the Nepal Red Cross Society District Branch, Bajura, Minister Khadka stated, “There is a limited budget for unlimited needs.” He acknowledged that many crucial development plans could not be accommodated due to budgetary limitations.
He further noted the difficulty in aligning budget allocations with regional needs, attributing it to the declining federal grant and conditional budgets provided to the provincial government.

Province Assembly Member Junakumari Dani emphasized the importance of spreading public awareness at the community level to promote healthy living. She also stressed the need for coordination and cooperation among elected representatives, civil servants, and political parties.
Chief District Officer Meghnath Padhya remarked on the significance of locally operating the blood transfusion center within the hospital, underscoring the need for its sustainability.
Meanwhile, Padam Baduwal, former mayor of Badimalika Municipality and vice-president of Nepali Congress Bajura, called for all three levels of government to collaborate in developing a comprehensive five-year strategic plan to address the province’s long-term development goals.
