Home delivery of citizenship for disabled individuals in Doti

Doti: In a significant move to assist disabled individuals, authorities in Doti have granted citizenship certificates at home to those unable to visit administrative offices due to physical disabilities.
Chief District Officer Mohan Raj Joshi facilitated the process, ensuring Suresh Bohara of Bogtan Foodsil Rural Municipality-5 and Nirmal Dhami of Ward No. 7 received their Nepali citizenship at home. Pradya Joshi stated that the initiative aims to help mentally and physically disabled individuals who previously relied on child identity cards for social security benefits but now require citizenship for continued access to state services.
"We have provided citizenship to one mentally and physically disabled person and another with physical disabilities," Joshi said. "Since they cannot visit the office due to their condition, we ensured they received citizenship at home."
Joshi further emphasized that no citizen should be deprived of their rightful services due to physical or financial challenges. He also assured that similar efforts would be extended to other local levels in the district where such individuals reside.
Kamal Bahadur Gadsila, Chairman of Bogtan Foodsil Rural Municipality, highlighted that the rural municipality facilitated the necessary documentation and administrative procedures. The initiative was particularly crucial as the social security allowance of these individuals had been halted due to the lack of citizenship.
