School infrastructure and facilities handed over to Chaurpati rural municipality in Achham
Achham: A newly constructed school building, menstrual-friendly toilet, and child-friendly drinking water tap have been officially handed over to Chaurpati Rural Municipality in Achham. These facilities were developed through the Integrated Community Development Project, a collaboration between Chaurpati Rural Municipality, Good Neighbors International Nepal, and Malika Bikas Sangh Nepal.
The menstrual-friendly toilet and child-friendly drinking water tap were handed over to Shree Dashpalle Secondary School in Ward No. 2 during a program on Friday. The handover was jointly conducted by Chaurpati Rural Municipality Vice-Chairperson Sir Devi Khadka, Chief Administrative Officer Dhan Bahadur Thapa, Malika Bikas Sangh Nepal President Him Bahadur Bishwakarma, and Good Neighbors International Nepal Cluster Coordinator Tej Prasad Sharma. The facilities were officially received by the School Management Committee President, Ran Bahadur Saund.
The menstrual-friendly toilet was constructed with a budget of Rs 1,615,038, while the drinking water tap was built for Rs 1,36,540.
On the same day, a two-room school building for Mastabandali Basic School in Ward No. 1 was inaugurated and handed over. The building, constructed at a cost of Rs 3,839,662, was inaugurated by Vice-Chairperson Khadka and handed over to the Chairman of the School Management Committee, Bir Bahadur Thapa.
At the event, Him Bahadur Bishwakarma, President of Malika Bikas Sangh Nepal, highlighted the organization’s continuous collaboration with Chaurpati Rural Municipality to enhance educational quality. He also emphasized their commitment to similar initiatives in the future.
Tej Prasad Sharma, Cluster Coordinator of Good Neighbors International Nepal, stated that the project aims to improve the quality of education through the provision of essential infrastructure. He expressed optimism that the new facilities would significantly contribute to the schools’ capacity to deliver quality education.
Vice-Chairperson Khadka praised the project’s impact on the educational development of Chaurpati Rural Municipality and expressed her commitment to fostering further collaboration with Malika Bikas Sangh and Good Neighbors International Nepal.
The handover ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Chief Administrative Officer Dhan Bahadur Thapa, Vice-President of Malika Bikas Sangh Nepal Gyanendra Bahadur Rawal, representatives from the municipality’s planning and education branches, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
