Open badminton tournament to commence in Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: An open badminton tournament is set to begin in Dhangadhi, Kailali, on Thursday.
Organized by Om Srinagar Sports Club, the tournament will be held at Dhangadhi Stadium from Karthik 19 to Karthik 24. In a press conference held today, Club President Premprakash Sharma confirmed that all preparations are complete for the Men's Open Doubles and B Label Men's Doubles Badminton Tournament.
In the Men's Open Doubles, the first-place winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 100,000, a trophy, and a certificate. The second and third-place winners will be awarded Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates. In the B Label Men's Doubles, the first-place winner will be awarded Rs 50,000, a trophy, and a certificate, while the second and third-place winners will receive Rs 30,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates.
Additionally, club member Jeevan Khadka stated that awards will also be given to the most disciplined and best players, with cash, trophies, and certificates. Matches will commence at 8 a.m. on Thursday, and the tournament will be officially inaugurated at noon by Saraswati Khadka, Minister of State for Social Development of the Far West.
