Two arrested with customs evasion goods in Darchula

Darchula: Two individuals have been arrested in Darchula for possessing goods smuggled from India, evading customs duties.

A police team from the District Police Office, Darchula, discovered goods valued at Rs. 237,006 during a search of BM General Store, operated by Bir Bahadur Bohra in Malla Bangabgad, Mahakali Municipality-4. The seized items included sugar, bidi, cooking oil, slippers, and various groceries.

Additionally, Rs. 47,470 worth of illegally imported goods were recovered from Thagunna Grocery Store, run by Karan Singh Thagunna, also of Malla Bangabgad. The police confiscated items such as flour, rice, cooking oil, and slippers from Thagunna’s warehouse. Both Bohra and Thagunna were arrested, and the contraband goods were seized.
