Prime Minister pledges to help for Sarangkot's development
Kaski: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has pledged to provide support for the development of Pokhara metropolis-18, Sarangkot.
At a meeting with the people's representatives, leaders of political parties and locals, he expressed the government's commitment to extend necessary support for tourism, drinking water and infrastructure development in Sarangkot having high tourism potentials.
Purnakhar Timilsina, a local, said a demand has been presented before the Prime Minister to operate the Yamdi-Sarangkot Lifting Drinking Water Project to solve the drinking water problem here. Similarly, demands have been put forward for up-gradation of Bindhyabasini Sarangkot road, control of landslide in agriculture road, development of Sarangkot as a tourism centre, construction of Tourism Park and up-gradation of National Luminary and Martyr Park among others. "We had presented various demands before the Prime Minister informing him about the problems of our ward.
The PM responded that the government would work to meet the needs of the local people", Timilsina said. Sarangkot is the preferred destination for domestic and foreign tourists. One can see beautiful glaciers and Pokhara Market with sunrise and sunset.
Prime Minister Dahal arrived in Pokhara on Tuesday evening to attend a province -level cadres' training programme to be organized by the CPN (Maoist Centre) Gandaki province committee at Pokhara City Hall today.
