Subsidized Agricultural Tools Provided to Flood-Affected Farmers for Sugarcane Cultivation in Kanchanpur
Kanchanpur: In a bid to bolster sugarcane cultivation and aid flood-affected farmers in Punarwas Municipality, subsidized agricultural tools have been distributed with a 50% subsidy.
To modernize sugarcane cultivation practices in Bagar, farmers in Rehabilitation-1, 7, and 9 have received essential agricultural implements such as rotavators, trenches, harrows, and Raja Hulls through the Disaster Management Committee. The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Nepal National Social Welfare Association and Mercicore Nepal, aims to empower farmers with the necessary tools to enhance sugarcane production and reduce labor costs.
During the distribution event, Samajkalyan Shanka Executive Director Ashok Vikram Jairu and Municipal Chief Toyraj Sharma jointly handed over the agricultural implements to the beneficiaries. Executive Director Jairu highlighted the significance of the subsidy program in enabling farmers to adopt modern technology for sugarcane farming, ultimately boosting production efficiency and yield.
Mayor Toy Nath Sharma emphasized the municipality's commitment to promoting sugarcane cultivation through subsidy programs, aligning with the project's objectives to increase agricultural productivity. Project officer Mahesh Ghimire outlined the distribution details, indicating the allocation of specific tools to various Community Disaster Management Committees within the municipality's wards.
