Agricultural Gyan Kendra Kailali Empowers Farmers with Agricultural Machinery Distribution
Dhangadhi: In a bid to bolster maize cultivation during both the spring and winter seasons, the Agricultural Knowledge Center Kailali has initiated the distribution of agricultural machinery among farmers.
Under the auspices of the maize cultivation promotion program, the distribution center recently provided agricultural implements to farmers in Janki Rural Municipality-2. Ramnarayan Choudhary, Crop Development Officer at the Agricultural Knowledge Center Kailali, revealed that equipment worth eight lakhs, including corn planting machines, threshing machines, and grain release machines, were disbursed to maize cultivators.
The Annapurna Farmers Group, with support from the Agricultural Knowledge Center Kailali, has successfully cultivated maize across 29 hectares of land in Kalikapur. Notably, the center extended a 50% subsidy for maize cultivation endeavors. Choudhary emphasized that the provision of agricultural materials aims to facilitate marketing opportunities while fostering the expansion of maize cultivation.
Currently, Kalikapur hosts 119 farmers engaged in commercial maize farming, indicating a promising landscape for maize production with favorable marketing prospects, as highlighted by Padam Bahadur Bista, President of the Annapurna Farmers Group.
