Five Absconding Individuals, Including a Woman, Apprehended in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: Law enforcement authorities in Kanchanpur have successfully apprehended five individuals, including a woman, who were evading legal authorities in connection with various cases.

The individuals arrested are Ram Singh Devi Sunar, Ram Kumar Sunar, Niraj Chand, Amit Bam, and Nanda Devi Rokaya. Ram Singh and Ram Kumar faced charges related to dual citizenship and were fined 2000 rupees on the 5th of Baisakh, 2064 BS.

Furthermore, Niraj Chand was convicted of theft and sentenced to 11 months and 11 days of imprisonment on Mangshir 17, 2076 BS, while Amit Bam was sentenced to two months of imprisonment and fined 650 rupees on Kartik 3, 2079 BS, for his involvement in theft-related activities. Nanda Devi faced charges resulting in a fine of 1000 rupees on the 7th of Asar, 2052 BS.

Police Inspector Puskarraj Pant, Information Officer of the District Police Office Kanchanpur, confirmed that the arrests were made on Friday. These individuals had been on the run since the issuance of their respective sentences.
