Nepal Army Day Celebrations to Span Three Days in Dhangadhi, Featuring Military Exhibitions
Dhangadhi: The Nepali Army is gearing up to commemorate Mahashivratri and Nepal Army Day with grand celebrations at the Dhangadhi Stadium. The Sudurpaschim Pritna Head Quarter Teghri will host festivities honoring Mahashivratri alongside the 261st Nepali Army Day at the Dhangadhi Rangshala.
Traditionally observed on Mahashivratri, the Nepali Army's foundation day will be marked with a series of events aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of the Nepali Army and fostering smooth military-civilian relations. A press release from Sudurpaschim Pritna emphasizes the Nepali Army's commitment to contributing significantly to national development, nature conservation, and sports, in addition to its primary responsibilities of public protection and welfare.
To facilitate closer engagement with the public, the Nepali Army will organize a comprehensive exhibition titled 'Nepali Army from History to Present,' providing insights into its roles, functions, and contributions across various sectors. As part of the celebrations, the Far-West Pritna Headquarters has announced the 'Various Military Exhibition' Unity Run-2080, scheduled to take place from February 26th to 28th at the Covered Hall Sports Ground in Dhangadhi.
The three-day military exhibition will showcase the Nepali Army's combat, combat support, and combat service support units, along with displays of weapons, equipment, uniforms, and the art of war. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the Nepali Army's initiatives in nature conservation, development, public welfare, sports, and global peace efforts through multimedia presentations.
A highlight of the celebrations will be the Unity Run-2080, featuring a 5 km race competition categorized by age groups for students up to class 10 and class 11 and 12. Cash prizes totaling 10,000, 7,000, and 5,000 rupees will be awarded to the top three runners in each category.
Moreover, a 10 km open race competition for both men and women will offer cash prizes and mountain bikes to the winners, promoting community participation in the festivities.
