Two Arrested with Drugs in Kanchanpur; Seizures Made in Punarwas Municipality

Dhangadhi: Two individuals have been apprehended with narcotics in Kanchanpur. The arrests took place in Punarwas Municipality-4 and 11 of the district.

The first suspect, identified as 21-year-old Birendra Kathayat from Godavari Municipality-8 Syaule of Kailali, was taken into custody with 440 milligrams of illicit substance, identified as brown heroin. The arrest occurred in Punarwas Municipality-4, Kargildanda, on Wednesday afternoon. Kathayat was intercepted by officers from Ela Police Office, Tribhuvanabasti, during his entry from India to Nepal.

Similarly, 26-year-old Kamal Bhandari from Patan Municipality-6 of Baitadi was also apprehended with 920 milligrams of brown heroin in Punarwas Municipality-11, Dokebazar, Kanchanpur. This arrest was made on Wednesday night by officers stationed at Ela Police Office, Tribhuvanabasti, during his attempted entry from India.

The suspects are currently in police custody as further investigation into the matter ensues.
