Lightning-Induced Fire Claims Lives of Gopal's Wife and Mother in Dadeldhura

Dhangadhi: A devastating thunderstorm in Dadeldhura wreaked havoc on Gopal Dayal's residence, resulting in the tragic loss of his wife and mother. The incident has left Gopal, currently working in Qatar for foreign employment, grappling with immense grief over the untimely demise of his family members.

The heart-wrenching event unfolded in Amargadhi Municipality-1 Malam of Dadeldhura, where 26-year-old Poonam Dayal and her 60-year-old mother-in-law, Dhauli Devi Dayal, were sleeping in the lower room of their house on Sunday night. A fire broke out in the room, and by 7 am the following morning, when there was no sign of movement from inside, concern mounted.

Dhauli Devi's grandson, alarmed by the situation, attempted to rouse them by knocking on the door. Failing to elicit a response, other household members broke down the door. Inside, they discovered Dhauli Devi unconscious, and she was immediately rushed to Dadeldhura Hospital. Tragically, the hospital declared both women deceased, with Dhauli Devi succumbing to suffocation.

District Police Office Dadeldhura Information Officer Kusum Nayak confirmed the cause of death and stated that further investigations are underway. Gopal Dayal, deeply affected by the devastating news, is on his way back home from abroad to cope with the loss of his wife and mother. The community shares in the grief and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
