Nepal Police Constable Assaulted by Indian Citizens at Gauriphanta Border Crossing

Dhangadhi: In a disturbing incident at the Nepal-India border area, an Indian citizen assaulted Constable Bishnu Bhul of the Nepal Police in Gauriphanta, located near Dhangadhi. A video capturing the assault has gone viral on social media, depicting four individuals restraining the police constable.

Deputy Inspector of Police Prakash Dangi, the spokesperson for the District Police Office in Kanchanpur, confirmed that the victim in the video is Police Constable Bishnu Bhul, currently serving at the Dokebazar police station.

According to official reports, the altercation occurred on Tuesday when Constable Bhul was on a personal errand, visiting the Indian market across Kanchanpur. Deputy Inspector Dangi explained that a dispute arose between Constable Bhul and an Indian individual, resulting in the unfortunate incident captured in the viral video. Fortunately, Constable Bhul did not sustain any injuries during the assault.

This incident underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement personnel in maintaining cross-border security and emphasizes the need for diplomatic efforts to address such incidents and foster peaceful coexistence between neighboring countries.
