Tragic Jeep Accident in Achham Leaves 14 Injured; Driver in Police Custody
Accham: In a regrettable incident in Mangalsen Municipality-7 of Achham, a total of fourteen individuals sustained injuries following a jeep accident on Madhyapahari Lokmarg. The ill-fated vehicle, bearing registration number VE 1 Ch 2576, was en route from Bajura to Surkhet at the time of the mishap, which occurred on a Tuesday.
The injured parties, identified as Humla residents Kabu Lama (the driver), Prince Phadera, Pratigya Phadera, and Ratna Phadera, were immediately attended to. Additional victims included Purna Bahadur Rawal, Kushe Karki, Ramsila Phadera, Rupa Karki, Dibya Rawal, Dharma Phadera, Maina Rawal, Ranjita Rawal, Hirajan Karki, and Namrata Phadera, as reported by the local police.
Achham police inspector Rajendra Saud confirmed that the driver, Kabu Lama, was taken into custody following preliminary medical treatment. Among the injured, four-year-old Prince Phadera was referred to Surkhet for further medical attention, while the remaining individuals are currently receiving treatment at the District Hospital Achham, according to Chief Doctor Rabi Yadav.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine its cause and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
