Kanchanpur: A brutal incident unfolded in Kanchanpur as Harak Khadayat of Vedkot Municipality-1, Amthala, was subjected to a severe beating, prompting his family to file a complaint against five individuals.

In the quest for justice, the family of the unconscious Harak approached the District Police Office in Kanchanpur on Saturday. The assault occurred on the night of November 28, stemming from a dispute over a transaction. Khadayat, left in a critical condition after the assault, remains unconscious.

According to family members, Harak was transported to Rudrapur in India and subsequently to Dehradun for treatment on the morning of the 29th, the day following the incident. Despite spending 2 million Indian rupees on his medical care in India, his health did not show signs of improvement, leading to his return home.

Frustrated by the lack of arrests in connection to the assault, the family brought the unconscious Khadayat to the police office, demanding justice. In response, the family has officially filed a complaint against Uddhav Bohara, Lok Bohara, Dwarna Bohara, Lok Bohara, and Chakra Bohara, all residing in the same locality and allegedly involved in the beating.

Kamal Thapa, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office in Kanchanpur, assured that an investigation is underway based on the victim's complaint. Currently, four individuals are being sought by the police, with Chakra Bohara, accused in the incident, having been apprehended. The community awaits further developments as authorities work to bring justice to the victim, Harak Khadayat.
