Purchoudi Municipality Allocates 9 Lakhs for Eye Treatment Center in Baitadi
Dhangadhi: In a proactive move to support eye care services, Purchoudi Municipality of Baitadi has earmarked a budget of 9 lakhs for the Purchoudi Eye Treatment Center situated in Ward No. 1, Hat. This financial allocation, made during the current fiscal year, underscores the municipality's commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure within the region.
Established last year, the eye treatment center currently employs two staff members and one office assistant. Notably, the municipality has been responsibly covering the salary of the office assistant. Local residents have voiced their approval, asserting that it falls under the municipality's purview to contribute to the funding of the eye care facility.
Mina Dhanuk, Deputy Chief of the municipality, elucidated that Purchoudi Municipality collaborated with the non-governmental organization Charity Health Foundation to establish the eye treatment center. The allocated budget of 9 lakhs for the ongoing year reflects a collective decision aimed at facilitating the treatment of individuals experiencing eye-related issues.
Responding to concerns raised by locals regarding the sale of glasses at the eye treatment center, Deputy Chief Dhanuk clarified that the center's primary objective is to provide essential eye care services. Addressing the absence of two technicians, she explained that they were currently engaged in exams, emphasizing that locals continue to receive necessary treatments from the center.
The Purchoudi Eye Treatment Center remains a pivotal resource for the community, aligning with the municipality's vision to prioritize and enhance healthcare accessibility for its residents.
