Grand Kickoff of BDC Cricket Cup in Baitadi: Nepal Cricket Association President Inaugurates 20th Edition
Baitadi: The BDC Cup district-level one-day cricket tournament commenced in Baitadi on Saturday, marked by the distinguished presence of Nepal Cricket Association President, Chatur Bahadur Chand. The inaugural ceremony unfolded at the Dashrath Chand Cricket Ground, Sundarkhali, where Chairman Chand showcased his cricketing finesse with a bowling stint, while Baitadi Chief District Officer Suresh Panthi displayed his batting prowess.
The opening match witnessed a gripping clash between NRYC and Panchkoti, with the latter winning the toss and opting to bat. This edition of the BDCA Cup, organized by the Baitadi District Cricket Association, features the participation of thirteen formidable teams.
Vinod Bahadur Chand, President of the Baitadi District Cricket Association, shared insights into the tournament structure, revealing that the thirteen teams have been strategically divided into four groups. Notably, the BDCA Cup is being contested in the One Day format this year, adding an extra layer of intensity to the competition.
The stakes are high for the teams, as the ultimate victors will be adorned with a prestigious trophy, along with medals and certificates. Additionally, a substantial cash prize of 50,000 awaits the champions, while the runners-up will receive a trophy, medals, certificates, and a commendable cash award of 35,000.
