9-Point Agreement Ends Kamalbazar Municipality Dispute in Far West
Achham: A significant breakthrough has been reached in the resolution of the Kamalbazar municipality dispute in the hilly district of Far West. Following discussions on Wednesday between protesting employees, the city chief, and deputy chief, a comprehensive 9-point agreement has been established.
City Chief Yagya Prasad Dhakal, City Deputy Chief Sharda Bista Kunwar, Acting Chief Administrative Officer Khadga Bahadur Bista, and Contract Employee Struggle Committee Coordinator Devendra Bahadur Shahi jointly issued a statement after reaching the agreement.
Key points outlined in the agreement include the reinstatement of dismissed contract employees by extending the deadline, scheduling a council meeting on November 24, initiating the payment process for all employees and teachers until the end of November, and ensuring the salary disbursement for monthly wage employees until the same period.
Furthermore, the agreement stipulates the drafting of procedures related to the filling of posts in contract services. By the end of November 2080 BS, employees working on contract services or monthly wages will be submitted to the municipal assembly to advance the process of filling up posts through internal limited competition. The joint statement also highlights the commitment to conducting the process of filling up posts through open competition in accordance with the established procedures for contract services. This comprehensive agreement reflects a collaborative effort towards resolving the Kamalbazar municipality dispute and ensuring the smooth functioning of municipal affairs.
